And Jesus answered them, ‘Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, “Be taken up and thrown into the sea,” it will happen.’ — Matthew 21:21 (ESV)
Reflection: Jesus speaks about the power of faith that can move mountains. This isn’t about literal mountains but about the seemingly insurmountable challenges in our lives. Faith, even as small as a mustard seed, has the power to bring about significant change because it is rooted in God’s power, not our own.
Often, we face obstacles that seem impossible to overcome—whether they are personal struggles, broken relationships, or fears about the future. Jesus encourages us to have faith, to believe without doubting, and to trust that God can move those mountains in our lives.
Application: Identify a “mountain” in your life that you need God’s help to move. Pray with faith, believing that God is able to do what seems impossible. Trust Him with the outcome and take steps forward, even if you can’t yet see how the mountain will move.
Prayer: Lord, help me to have faith that moves mountains. Strengthen my trust in You, especially when I face challenges that seem impossible to overcome. I believe that with You, all things are possible. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Challenge: Take a step of faith today in an area where you have been hesitant. Trust God to guide you through the process.
