But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
— 2 Corinthians 12:9 (ESV)
Reflection:
We often feel the need to appear strong and capable, but God’s Word tells us that His power is perfected in our weakness. It is when we come to the end of our own strength that we truly begin to experience the sufficiency of God’s grace.
Instead of hiding our weaknesses, we can embrace them, knowing that they create space for God’s power to work in and through us.
Application:
Think about an area in your life where you feel weak or inadequate. Ask God to fill that weakness with His strength and to work powerfully through it.
Prayer:
Father, thank You that Your grace is sufficient for me. Help me to rest in Your strength, even when I feel weak. May Your power be evident in my life as I lean on You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Challenge:
Embrace one of your weaknesses today and ask God to reveal His strength through it.

It was good to read this today. I’ve been finding it tough juggling everything and feeling like I have to be strong all the time. It reminds me its ok to be vulnerable and let God in. Thanks for sharing, Sam.
Maggie, totally agree. It’s a powerful message.
I’m so glad this devotional spoke to you! It’s so easy to feel like we have to be strong all the time, but you’re absolutely right—it’s okay to be vulnerable and lean on God. He’s there to carry us when we feel overwhelmed. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and I pray that you continue to find strength in His presence during this time.
but how do you know when you’re just being lazy or actually letting God’s power work? seems like a fine line that’s easy to cross. not saying the idea isnt solid, just seems hard to balance in real life.
You bring up a really good point—it can definitely feel like a fine line between resting in God’s power and worrying that we might be slacking off. I think the key is checking our hearts and intentions. When we’re letting God’s power work in us, it’s about surrendering control and trusting Him, while still being faithful in what we’re called to do. It’s not about giving up responsibility but recognizing that we don’t have to carry everything on our own. Finding that balance can be tough, and it’s something we grow in with time and prayer.
